PROJECT: Complete rear yard remodel to afford the clients more use of their large, and up to then, seldom-used backyard. The irregular shaped pool was modified to become a lap pool, three new water features were strategically placed to muffle the nearby 405 freeway, two new arbor structures were designed, one for swings and one for the new eating area which also included a fireplace with side water features. The plant selection was inspired by client’s own paintings and lend an impressionistic, almost dreamlike softness to the newly built stone terraces and walks.
